Margaret Leroy read music at Oxford and subsequently became a social worker and social work researcher involved in counselling couples and sex therapy programmes, and in work with abused children and teenagers. Since taking her MA at Leicester University she has published numerous articles and two books. She is married and has two daughters.

Margaret Leroy grew up in the New Forest and studied music at St Hilda’s College, Oxford. She has worked as a music therapist, playleader, shop assistant and social worker. She has written three non-fiction books, ‘Miscarriage’, ‘Pleasure’ and ‘Some Girls Do’, and a story for children, Aristotle Sludge. She has also written widely for magazines and newspapers, and appeared on numerous radio and television programmes. Her first novel, ‘Trust’, was published in 1999 and has been translated into five languages. ‘Trust’, as Loving You, is soon to be a Granada TV drama, starring Niamh Cusack and Douglas Henshall. Margaret Leroy is married with two daughters and lives in Kingston-upon-Thames.
